Everything seemed great but I got 1/2 size too big. I needed to exchange them for the right size. VERY comfortable. I used to be of the old way of thinking of boots had to be at least in part pointed with a high rear. But when I tried these on they were so much more comfortable that this above I think it's time for a change. likePedro's Downhill Tire Lever Best Reviews!

Cycling in Winter

Winter riding might be rewarding inside fact that, as long as you're out doing something most of your mates are likely still tucked up in bed.

This allows you to be justifiably smug regarding how you ride all year long, while calling your buddies soft if you are fair-weather riders.

But there is a cost to pay for this smugness, wear and tear in your bike.

If your pride and joy is a nice carbon bike with expensive Shimano or Campagnolo running gear, then come summer you may be up for a lot of expensive repairs.

There's a couple of ways to combat this.

Option one, take care of your bike. This means cleaning it after every wet weather ride.

Especially the chain and cassette. Pedro's Downhill The amount of grit and crap generated from wet roads is unbelievable, and left to take a seat on your chain and will also quickly wear the chain therefore the cassette.

Get in there with degreaser along with a toothbrush, or you can use one of these chain cleaning devices, availabe from Park tools. This is clipped over your chain, grow it with chain cleaner then turn the pedals to advance the chain over the device, where it's cleaned by brushes. Once clean, dry and re-lube. You might want to use a wet weather lube, some are designed?? specifically for wet conditions. Check with your bike shop since there are many different brands.??

Also pay attention to your rims and brake pads, again grit stuck to your brake pads will grind away at those expensive rims. Check the pads regularly and rub with sandpaper should you they feel rough.

Think about buying some cheap training tires, and save the good wheels for summer.

Obviously this all cleaning is a bit of a chore, and requires discipline Pedro's Downhill Tire Lever Best Reviews if it is the last thing you really feel like doing.

However there is often a Better Way.

Option two, and my recommendation, obtain a wet weather bike.

There are countless quantities of bikes on the market at this time of the year. People who hardly rode during summer, certainly wont be driving winter, so frequently decide to sell. Check ebay or perhaps your local auction site and have fun grabbing a good deal.

Alloy or steel bikes make excellent second bikes.

The idea behind this bike is toughness, so do not get one with Shimano Dura-ace componentry or any other expensive kit, buy one with cheaper lower spec componentry. I replaced top chain-rings, the chain along with the cassette in my wet weather bike for just over $200 knowning that included labor.

Fit mudguards, the top type are the ones that are fixed permanently for your bike, and hug your wheel, instead of the clip-on ones, though these are better than nothing.

Not only will this help you stay cleaner, though the rider behind you will end up appreciative of?? not being sprayed within the face because of your rooster tail.

Fit winter tires. There are plenty of puncture Backcountry Bike Clothing resistant training tires which don't be very expensive. You may want to fit a wider 25mm tire to get more grip traveling, also run with a lower pressure, say around 85psi, to obtain more rubber while travelling for even more grip.

The beauty of a bike like this, would it be needs very little maintenance. Just hose down after a ride and throw inside garage. Lube the chain occasionally, and Pedro's Downhill that's it.

Also if you have a bicycle just for the wet, you're more prone to go riding, since the excuse of hesitant to ruin the bike, don't be applicable.

There you have it, the perfect set up for winter. Wear the best clothing and you should find wet winter cycle rides may be fun.

One other advantage is you will discover the winter bike is often a lot heavier than your carbon speed machine. So come summer, after riding the heavy beast all winter, getting back on your own good bike, means you'll fly. As a friend of mine said, it's much like cheating.
